NOTAM OFFICER
JOB SUMMARY
The AIM NOTAM Officer provides high-quality Aeronautical Information Management (AIM) products and services in the Kingston FIR in accordance with ICAO Annexes 4, 15, 14 and 19, ICAO Documents 8400, 8126 and 10066; through the receipt, validation, prioritization, and timely dissemination of accurate NOTAM, SNOWTAMs, NOTAM Checklists, NOTAM Summaries, and Trigger NOTAMs, and maintaining real time/up-to-date records on the Authority’s NOTAM Website.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The AIM NOTAM Officer will be required to:
- Promptly assess, prepare, verify, validate, encode and disseminate international and domestic NOTAM and SNOWTAM, ensuring that critical operational information is made available in a timely manner to support aviation safety and flight operations, in accordance with the CARs and ICAO SARPs.
- Process and disseminate NOTAM, SNOWTAM, ASHTAM and BIRDTAM on behalf of other states during contingency or special emergency situations, in accordance with state requests, ICAO guidelines and established of agreement.
- Monitor incoming aeronautical information messages to identify safety-critical data impacting operations within the Kingston FIR and escalates issues to AIM Management as necessary.
- Update the JCAA website and relevant NOTAM databases with valid NOTAM and SNOWTAM to ensure easy access for both international and local users, while continuously monitoring and maintaining the NOTAM tracker to facilitate timely follow-up on status prior to expiry.
- Coordinate and maintain effective liaison with Air Traffic Management aerodrome operators, Flight Safety personnel, military authorities, technical service providers and regional AIS/AIM offices to ensure the timely exchange of aeronautical information.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences; Arts; or equivalent qualifications from a recognized tertiary institution
- At least two (2) years’ work experience in the Air Navigation Services or related field
- Passes in Geography, Mathematics and English Language at the secondary level.
- Professional Working Proficiency in Spanish or French would be an asset.

- Excellent skills and in customer relationship management.
- Ability to operate Microsoft Office Suite efficiently and effectively.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to recognize and take measures to rectify human errors
