RISK ASSESSMENT MANAGER
JOB SUMMARY
Reporting to the Director, Research, Planning & Risk Assessment, the incumbent contributes to the design and implementation of the Authority’s risk management framework by coordinating the Authority’s activities to manage the risks arising from the Authority’s strategic objectives. S/he also assists in developing the Authority’s risk profile; partnering with Divisions, Departments and Units in the ongoing implementation and review of the Authority’s enterprise risk management programme, and promoting a culture of risk awareness across the Authority. S/he is also required to assist in the development and maintenance of the Authority’s entity-wide business continuity programme.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in risk management, economics, or equivalent professional qualifications from a recognized institution
- Six (6) years’ demonstrable experience in a risk management role
- Specialized training in Risk Management and / or Project Management
- Relevant experience in the public sector or large companies would be an asset
- ISO 31000 Risk Analyst Certification (would be an asset)
KEY TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
- Knowledge of risk management practice and risk assessment techniques;
- Knowledge of the aviation industry.

- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Detail-oriented, problem-solving and analytical abilities
- Ability to prioritize and multi-task
- Ability to analyse and summarize complex information, and write clear and concise reports

- Leadership and supervisory management skills
- Proficiency in the use of computer and modern office applications for communicating, planning, scheduling, preparing spreadsheets, analysing data, word processing and presentations, and in using specialised software as necessary to collect and analyse risk assessment data.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE :
Planning:
- Support the development, implementation, and ongoing oversight of the Authority’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) Programme;
- Participates in the development of the Authority’s strategic goals and objectives to ensure that the Authority’s risk management measures are aligned with its strategic and operational plans;
- Participates in the implementation of the Authority’s overall risk strategy and monitors the implementation of the risk treatment action plans;
- Assists Heads of Departments and Units in identifying risks associated with strategic and operational plans and guides the identification of control measures and the development of risk treatment action plans as necessary;
- Conducts continuous and periodic reviews of the strategic and operational risks facing the Authority’s as a whole, its Divisions, Departments, Units and Projects and proactively assists HoDs in the identification of appropriate control measures and risk treatments;
- Detects potential threats to operational efficiency including underperforming resources and safety risks and report findings on risk exposure to the Director, Research, Planning and Risk Assessment;
- Facilitates the use of appropriate and quantitative and qualitative risk assessment techniques; ensures individual Staff members understand their own accountability for individual risks;
- Assists in the oversight of the implementation of controls measures to ensure risks are identified, properly classified, recorded and monitored by Heads of Departments and Units and remedial steps are taken to mitigate the Authority’s exposure;
- Contributes to the design and implementation of programmes and strategies to foster a culture of risk awareness and accountability across the organisation by providing support and training;
Business Continuity Management:
- Assists in the assessment of organisational readiness for, and exercise of, operational agility, flexibility and resilience;
- Collaborates with Divisional Heads, Heads of Departments and Units to develop and implement an entity-wide business continuity programme for the Authority (including crisis management and disaster recovery processes);
- Communicates the Authority’s business continuity strategy internally
Research and Analysis:
- Conducts research on emerging risks and trends relevant to the Authority;
- Conducts research and proposes best practices and solutions for identifying, measuring, monitoring and controlling material strategic and operational risks identified by the Authority;
- Conducts research and proposes best practices and solutions for the development and maintenance of business continuity management programmes (including crisis management and disaster recovery);
- Identifies and analyses root causes and trends that could result in the manifestation of risks;
