We are seeking to recruit a highly trained and experienced HR Professional to join our dynamic team as :

HUMAN RESOURCE OFFICER    

(Specializing in Talent Acquisition and Benefits Administration)

 

JOB SUMMARY

 

Under the direction of the Human Resource Manager, the incumbent is responsible for supporting the implementation of workforce management programmes to meet the Authority’s requirements. The role includes coordination of key activities related to talent acquisition, onboarding, employment, appointment, promotion, benefits administration, records management and separation activities in accordance with established policies.

 

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

 

  • A First Degree in Human Resource Management, Management Studies, or relevant social science qualification from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ related experience, preferably in a unionized environment

 

KEY TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

 

  • Sound knowledge of human resource functions and activities
  • Sound knowledge of human resource management principles and practices
  • Working knowledge of industrial relations policies and practices
  • Sound knowledge of the Staff Orders, Labour Laws and other relevant legislations governing human resource management
  • Sound knowledge of computer applications and systems, including human resource management information systems appropriate to assigned responsibilities
  • Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (i.e. Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, Publisher, Access and SharePoint)

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES  

 

TALENT MANAGEMENT

  • Participate in the conduct of research and planning activities to assist in forecasting the Authority’s manpower requirements
  • Coordinate and participate in all activities related to recruitment, including but not limited to:
  • Prepare job advertisement
  • Design various assessment tools to support recruitment process
  • Conduct shortlisting of applicants and schedule logistics for interviews
  • Conduct training sessions for recruitment team, as directed
  • Conduct interviews, as directed
  • Finalize post-selection activities
  • Coordinate onboarding, appointment and promotion activities
  • Coordinate employee separation activities

 

EMPLOYEE BENEFITS ADMINISTRATION/SERVICES

  • Coordinate and administer a suite of employee benefits (including meal services, uniform, safety gear, etc.) in accordance with policies and procedures
  • Liaise with suppliers of goods and services for administration of employee benefits
  • Advise employees on HR policies and Government of Jamaica (GOJ) guidelines
  • Communicate changes in policies and procedures to staff as directed

 

RECORDS MANAGEMENT AND DATA ANALYTICS

  • Track and monitor key HR measurements
  • Assist in maintaining currency and accuracy in the Authority’s human resource management system
  • Conduct analysis of employment data to support decision-making
  • Prepare management reports
